CAMLAP (Computer Assisted Multi-Language Assessment of Proficiency) is a language assessment tool built for STARTTS, the NSW Service for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors. It helps clinicians assess language proficiency for refugees and asylum seekers across 120+ languages.
Built in Flutter for web, CAMLAP is designed to work seamlessly on desktop browsers, tablets, and mobile devices without needing to publish to app stores. It meets WCAG AA accessibility standards, a hard requirement for government-funded healthcare tools. A clinician can use it on their desktop, hand a tablet to a client in a consultation room, or access it on a phone in the field. All from the same URL. Delivered by a blended team: Australian project leadership with Philippines-based Flutter developers.
